⭐ 15. Emergency Relief & Crisis Response Program

Our Purpose:  Provide rapid, respectful, and practical assistance to vulnerable families during emergencies  such as death of a caregiver, house fire, floods, famine, displacement, or sudden hardship.

EXPANSION: Activities

  • Distribute 3–7 day food kits including:

    ▪posho

    ▪beans

    ▪salt

    ▪sugar

    ▪cooking oil

    ▪tea or porridge

    Prioritize child-headed households, grieving families, or displacement victims

    Partner with local leaders to verify and deliver

    Include short prayer, message of hope, and follow-up plan

    👉 Hunger shouldn’t follow heartbreak. This support says, “You are not alone.”

  • Provide used or new clothes by size, labeled by child/gender

    Include emergency hygiene packs:

    ▪soap

    ▪sanitary pads

    ▪underwear

    ▪toothbrush/toothpaste

    Sort kits into “age bands” for easier, faster distribution

    Respect cultural dress norms (e.g. no short skirts, torn clothing)

    👉 A fresh set of clothes after loss or displacement restores dignity, especially for children.

  • Offer help after fires, floods, or eviction:

    ▪tarpaulins

    ▪mattresses

    ▪mosquito nets

    ▪blankets

    ▪jerrycans

    Where possible, provide small housing grants or connect with local construction teams/church groups for rebuilds

    Document damages and offer psychosocial follow-up

    👉 Shelter restores safety and calm  it turns chaos into recovery.

  • Help families who have been forced to relocate due to:

    ▪Land conflicts

    ▪Flooding

    ▪Domestic violence

    ▪Child abandonment or trafficking threats

    ▪Provide one-time transport, resettlement aid, or safe lodging for 1–3 nights

    ▪Refer to government or NGO support systems

    ▪Assist in reconnecting children with trusted caregivers

    👉 This isn’t a long-term shelter program it’s a rapid bridge to stability.

    ➡️ Especially vital for at-risk youth or child mothers.
