Lynn Henke
Finance & Compliance Officer
Lynn Henke is a distinguished leader with a lifetime of service in both civic and church roles. Born in 1942, he graduated from high school in 1961 and attended the University of Utah before serving as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1963 to 1965. In 1966, he married his sweetheart, Edna, in the Salt Lake Temple. Lynn later earned his degree in Business Management from the University of Utah in 1968 and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Signal Corps.
During his military career, Lynn served at Fort Gordon (Georgia), Fort Monmouth (New Jersey), and Yuma Proving Ground (Arizona), before being deployed to Vietnam with the Headquarters Company of the 21st Signal Group in Nha Trang. There, he served as a telephone systems officer, MAIT team leader, and S4 logistics officer, earning the rank of Captain before completing his active duty.
Following his military service, Lynn transitioned into the private and public sectors, working first in sales with Olivetti Corporation and later as an accountant and Network Administrator for the State of Utah, where he served for 35 years until his retirement in 2009. His dedication to community service extended beyond his career — he was elected Mayor of Ivins, Utah, serving a four-year term beginning in 1989, and later served for five years as Bishop in his local congregation.
Together with his wife Edna, Lynn has raised five children and enjoys a growing family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As a Co-Founder and Finance & Compliance Officer for CHOCU, Lynn ensures the organization maintains transparent financial practices, accountability, and compliance with nonprofit standards. His wisdom, faith, and experience guide CHOCU’s mission to deliver education and opportunity to children from low-income families with integrity and stewardship. His life of service, faith, and integrity continues to inspire the values upon which CHOCU is built.
